Illuminate

I entered the cave blindly, with no map to guide me and no light to see. I ventured further in, taking many risky twists and turns. Walls began closing in and darkness became darker. All seemed lost and my heart grew hopeless. I never wanted to find myself broken, but broken was what I became. I wanted to give up. There was no turning back. Then I saw it. A light. It started as a spark but became something greater. In a split second, the entire cave was illuminated. I saw where I had been and where I wanted to go. My goals, for once in my life, became clear. I saw all of the precious gems and beauty of it all. The spark had revived me. I was finally able to find my way out, but the ending was only the beginning.
